Erin & Kyle in Estes Park!

Wow, there is nothing better than photographing a beautiful wedding in a beautiful location! It's always a bit dicey when planning an outdoor wedding in late September in the Colorado mountains, but when it works - it really works!

Erin and Kyle's wedding was anything but conventional. From the "bridal boots" to the "ceremony shades", this wedding is one for the books! Check it out!

I don't care who you are - that's just hot!

Bloopers! "Ok guys, looking right here, give her a sqeeze, cheek to cheek and give me a nice smile... perfect... and... DOH!"
Disclaimer: No brides or grooms were injured in the making of this photo...

Senior shoot at CU Boulder

I've never shot at CU before; nice place! We had a ton of fun and captured many beautiful images in a relatively small area. The skies were dark and rain was threatening much of the time, so we had to make our own light for most of the session. That's ok, with mom's help, we pulled it off!

Jennifer & Ken's wedding

Saturday, September 13th - wow, what a beautiful weekend we had for a wedding! Jennifer and Ken were married at the Aspen Lodge in Estes Park; a beautiful log structure set among a huge grove of aspens. We are shooing another wedding up there in two weeks; I can hardly wait!

The wedding day planning was coordinated by Wendee Walter of Custom Weddings of Colorado. Wendee did a fantastic job of keeping things running smoothly and was a treat to work with!

I also had the good fortune to shoot along side my very best friend Randy Cupps. Randy is an awesome photographer and we always have a blast when we work together. Here are a few of my favorites from the day! These first two were taken by Randy - nice!

The images below were taken the next morning! Every so often I have a request for a "day-after" session and this was certainly the perfect setting. We drove around in Rocky Mountain National Park and found some cool spots to make some awesome images!

MHDSA Buddy Walk

For the past three years, I have volunteered my time to photograph the Mile High Down Syndrome Association Buddy Walk. The Buddy Walk is a great time and awesome fundraiser for the MHDSA. For more information on the MHDSA, click here!

Meet Marty and Bob Grant; the grandparents of Rayne Adams. Rayne now lives in Phoenix with her parents BJ Adams and Piper Grant and couldn't make it this year, but Bob and Marty gave Rayne a great showing!

Some of these teams get pretty big! This group is 60+ strong!

Laura & Ryan

Laura and Ryan were married at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Englewood. The reception was at the Hyatt Regency DTC. This venue proved to be an awesome location for some fun and creative shots during the reception!

A special thanks goes out to April Dietrich, who was with me as a guest photographer for the day. April was a great help and captured some awesome images. She was also instumental in helping me set up some of the creative shots you see here. Here's a test shot of April posing as we conceptualize the image above. Once we had it figured out, we brought Laura & Ryan in for a few quick takes and sent them back off to the party.

Monica & Matt

Monica and Matt were married at the The Event Center at Church Ranch; a very pretty location with lots of gardens and a great reception hall.
Check out these first three photos. Would you believe we were able to capture these totally different perspectives with the bride in the same position? Working quickly means working efficiently and the less we have to move our subjects around, the better.

Senior shoot downtown

I've had a blast this summer shooting several senior photo sessions. Meet John. Although we captured many "straight up" shots, these were some of my favorites!

Jennifer & Ken

Here's a few shots of Jennifer and Ken's engagement session. These guys are a ton of fun and I can't wait for their wedding in September in Estes Park. We shot the session at Elk Meadow Open Space in Evergreen. Beautiful setting for some fun and romantic photos!

I was assisted by Tom Dix of Aberdeen Photo, who did a great job helping out and holding my light. Until the day of the session, Tom and I had never met, but had conversed by email several times. Tom lives in Atlanta and was in town visiting some relatives and emailed me to see if we could connect formally. As you can see , we had a blast! Thanks Tom!

United States Marine

Remember this guy? 13 weeks ago, we said goodbye to our son Daniel as he was sworn in as a member of the Armed Forces and left for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. Thursday we saw our new Marine for the first time and let me tell you, it was a very emotional experience. Of course I took lots of photos, but have barely had time to even look at them, let alone post to my blog. Let me just say that this young Marine has never looked so good and we are so proud of him!
