For the past several weeks, I have been going out once a week or so with Katlyn and her friends to have some fun making photos. Kaylyn is preparing a portfolio to present as her senior project on photography and has asked me to mentor her along the way. This has been a ton of fun and let me say right now, Katlyn is not the only one learning here! Katlyn just bought a nice shiny new camera of her own, so these shots are mine. Check it out!

coloradoweddingphotographers.net
I belong to a small group of photographers who have banded together to pool resources and talents for the purposes of marketing and growth. We meet once a month to network, share ideas, and grow the focus of the group. This month we launched a blog that we will all post to from time to time. Ultimately, the idea is for a perspective bride to feel confident that one of the talented photographers in this group may be a perfect fit for her wedding. Although we are all similarly priced, each of us offers a unique approach to our craft. Yesterday, we took a "team photo", which was both fun and awkward for a bunch of artists who very rarely see this side of the camera! Check out the CWP blog and see if you pick us out! :)

Tag along with Randy!
I was recently privileged to tag along with my BFF Randy Cupps and his wife Michelle to shoot Rachele and Aaron's wedding. Basically, a tag along is where an extra photographer is invited to shoot, help out where needed, and basically just have fun. There is no compensation involved other than to learn from each other and further grow my skills behind the camera. Randy and Michelle have it covered as far as the images go, so anything that I shoot is pure gravy... FUN gravy! I just purchased a couple of new cameras and was itching for an opportunity to run them through their paces in a live (but uncommitted) shoot - perfect! As promised, a good time was had by all. I stayed three hours and left for home about the time they all headed for the reception. Check it out!

New Website!
OK, so I finally bit the bullet and put up a new website. Unlike my previous website, this one really features images - meaningful images relative and specific to all aspects of our work. There are tons of galleries with more to come. This new site offers the flexibility and expandability to grow for a long time. The shell is simple and does not detract from the intended purpose of showcasing what I do and perhaps some of the passion behind it. I put up a bio page for the first time ever. This is a risky maneuver for the likes of me, but I a risky kind of guy... :D
Check it out here and drop me a line to let me know what you think!

Shooting with Katlyn
Ok, so for the thousands who follow my blog, I know you've been anxiously awaiting a new post, so here it is! ;) In my last post, I mentioned Katlyn; a high school senior tasked with shadowing a professional photographer in order to learn and put together a portfolio for her senior project. Well, for the past few weeks, we have been busy making images! Here are a few "Katlyn in action shots", as well as some images she herself made. Check it out!
Recognize this cat? Katlyn took this photo!
